The 1975 Release Socially Work Single

HALEY EVANS - 7/19/2018

The 1975 has just released one of their most complex, political songs to date. “Love It If We Made It” is the second track to be released from their new album, “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships”. This highly anticipated single follows the drop of “Give Yourself A Try,” which came out in late May. Although we liked the first track, this second release is definitely our favorite of the two.

In this new single, Matt Healy and the band tell us that “modernity has failed us”.  If you listen closely, you’ll hear numerous references to the likes of the late emo-rapper Lil Peep, Donald Trump, the refugee crisis, and modern racism. The pulsating words are ear-catching and provide an extensive amount of political and social commentary that we are definitely here for.

Accompanying the introspective, socially-aware lyrics is a sound that fans will recognize and rejoice over, as the familiar style is reminiscent of past work from the group. Heavy bass and incredible vocals from Healy combine to create a pop-centric tune that we absolutely love, and we think you will too. Although the message of social concern is clear, the song has a positive, head-bopping chorus, and a sound that will leave 1975 fans wanting more.

“A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” is set to be released in October, and will include this track.
