Show Review: Muse at Denver’s Ball Arena

Muse’s Will of the People Tour has stretched far and wide across North America following the release of the bands most recent album, 2022’s ‘Will of the People’. The groups 9th album. Joined by Evanescence and Highly Suspect, the WOTP tour arrived in Denver on April 4th to a packed Ball Arena. Muse have always been a band that has created epic sounding ballads. Far removed from 2006’s release Black Hole’s and Revelations, the band has had many revelations and come to new ground with their most recent album.

Kicking the show off in the most theatric fashion. The trio arrived on stage in mirrored masks. A burning Will Of The People logo high above the band. The chants of the bands first song ‘Will Of The People’ began filing the arena. The anthemic song and hard hitting performance had the crowd screaming along.

It was instantly clear just how massive the sound the trio creates live truly is. Lead singer Matt Bellamy’s belting vocals launching out from his masked face. The pounding drums and towering guitar riffs filled every square inch of the arena, coating the crowd in sonic joy as the band removed the masks and tore into one of their biggest hits ‘Hysteria’

The massive cinematic vibes continued as between songs a ‘Drill Sargent’ video played on screens above the band. Further continuing the anti-establishment themes filling the bands most recent album. The band tore through a strong handful of songs including ‘Stockholm Syndrome’, Bellamy noting the nearly 20 years since the song was released.

Another story video was displayed on the arena’s massive screens, pushing this concert further on the conceptually cinematic voyage, and keeping the crowd engaged for every second that they spent in the same room as Muse. And engaged the crowd was as the performance never lost an ounce of steam. Further high quality and impressive theatric elements adorned the stage, fitting the individual songs the band were currently playing. The performance and production were impressive from the bands stage entrance, all the way to the last notes of the encore. With the band close outing the 20+ long set with their most epic song of all ‘Nights Of Cydonia’.

Muse are nearing thirty years as a band yet every part of their performance felt youthful and fun. They are far from tired old rockers and fans new and old will enjoy the standout rock performance that Muse are still treating crowds to worldwide.
