Keith Buckley Makes His Comeback with Band Many Eyes

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album War All The Time, notable post-hardcore band Thursday took post-hardcore veterans Rival Schools and the iconic musicians from Many Eyes on a world tour. On Wednesday, February 21st 2024 the trio of bands stopped off in Boston, MA at the Paradise Rock Club for a thrilling and memorable performance.
If you know metalcore you know the name Every Time I Die and were most likely very sad when the group announced their split after 24 years. After the split, their iconic frontman and vocalist Keith Buckley truly decided to work on bettering himself and reorganized his priorities. After being encouraged by Hatebreed’s vocalist Jamey Jasta, he reached out to the Bellmore brothers - drummer Nick Bellmore (Kingdom of Sorrow + Toxic Holocaust) and guitarist Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom of Sorrow + more). Getting along immediately, the trio started working on their sound and released "Revelation " in October of 2023. “Mystic Cord" was released roughly a month later in mid November and their most recent and only other release was "Future Proof" in mid January 2024. Their sound is very reminiscent of the hardcore sounds of Every Time I Die, but Buckley’s growth and development as on artist and musician is very apparent in the lyrics and vocals. Keep an eye out for Many Eyes’ debut album that will be produced by Jamey Jasta and released through Perseverance Media Group.
Many Eyes’ set was a really nice way to start the end of a busy and stressful day. Being able to see Keith Buckley live and hear his vocals in person was honestly a surreal experience, and it was very enjoyable to see how much fun he seemed to be having. Like any person, he’s had his demons he had had to battle with and it was very rewarding being able to see him out on the other side doing what he loves doing - making and playing music with people. After two decades of making music and utilizing his voice, Buckley’s voice still comes out as a clean and strong — he’s able to hit the notes when he’s singing with a very clean and layered tone and his screams are still sharp and guttural, giving the perfect amount of ‘uncleanliness’ you want in a metalcore band. Even though he got distracted by food, specifically fries, being eaten at the barricade, he played it off extremely well and although he said he messed up the lyrics to “Future Proof,” I couldn’t even notice. As I sit content with Keith Buckley’s return to the music world, I eagerly await Many Eye’s debut album and look forward to what their future has in store.
