Lights in Chicago
Lights came out on the House of Blues Chicago stage in a yellow jumpsuit looking like a Kill Bill character and I was beyond obsessed. Her typical primary color aesthetic hit the spot while her LED visuals were graphic perfection. She was electric from the start and the crowd ate it up. I couldn’t help but to belt it out with her when she played Up We Go, one of my personal favorites. The best crowd reactions I saw were during When the Summer Dies- a Lights and deadmau5 collaboration. Like she said, there’s just something perfect about sad lyrics mixed with upbeat audio. Maybe it’s Chicago’s recent perpetual overcast gloom, but I think we all needed the little bit of catharsis and the overwhelming brightness Lights brought with her.
